Well, every med works different for every kid, this bites.
We tried several meds before settling with Concerta 72 mg, Zoloft for the anxiety and Intunive to calm him and help even things out and for the impulsiveness
As you can see we have been dopwn a long road. my son is 11.5 now
What kind of dr r u using to treat? A family doctor is not the right one a child psychiatrist or something like this who specializes in meds is the right way to go
I wish you luck maybe you need to try vyvanse another type of med did us horrible but we respond to the Concerta who knows. Good Luck to you
What other meds has he used?thanks for responding to my post. He did see a child psychiatrist and he is the one who suggested a stimulant. I have done countless hours of research on all the meds he has tried (STRATTERA 25mg, INTUNIV 1MG AND 2MG, AND NOW CONCERTA 27mg) I just feel so bad for him especially in the social skills area. He had a number of kids tell him they hated him yesterday and he was so upset and crying. One of his biggest issues is that he hyperfocuses on things and he cannot move on to anything else when he becomes this way. We are going to begin family counseling ( he did one on one counseling for over a year now) He has a wonderful teacher and we have an awesome support system but feel as though the trials and tribulations of meds are best answered by other families going thru trials such as ours. His ped and pysch both feel stimulants are best for him but I have yet to see any positive benefits and my husband and I both feel things are "getting worse" only time will tell. Thanx again and enjoy the rest of your weekend !The tenenx is not enough by itself but added to a good dose on Concerta I t has done wonders for us. He is on small mg of Concerta. we startes around 27mg a year or so ago and my 12.5 year old boy is now on 72 mg. Counseling is great! I highly reccomend it! good luck to you but maybe your dosage is too low?????????There are different classes of drug. There are pharmacologists who
