Count yourself as one of the lucky ones that your daughter is doing so well on the first medicine you tried! We were that lucky as well, but it seems we are the exception, not the rule. As for taking the pill, there was a recent thread on here about someone having the same problem and someone suggested a special cup you can buy which is supposed to make it easier, I think it's an ortho cup?? Your pharmacist might have some other ideas. Is it the idea of the medicine she is resisting, or is it just trouble swallowing the pill? Bribery works wonders! Have you tried rewarding her with something she really likes after she takes the pill? Our son takes focalin XR which we sprinkle on ice cream since he wouldn't take a pill, but he has a short acting booster dose he occasionally needs to take which is pill form. He refused to take it for months, but one day out of the blue he decided to try it and now there is no problem at all with it. This may happen with your daughter as well. How do you get her to take it now? Could you make a game of it?

Hello I am new here and need some help and advice.  My DD is 7 and has been on Vyvanse since Dec.  It is a great med for her.  Within 3 weeks she had improved in reading almost working on grade level and she is just doing great in class and at home with homework.  She has also not experienced any side effects.  She also has some anxiety and gets really scared in large crowds.  Our problems with her are the morning trying to get her to take her pill.  She will not swallow it and we have tried putting it in anything and everything to get her to take it.  Our morning are pure hell.  She is so strong willed but she has never won the fight as far as taking it but the process is just  horrible.  She doesn't have any other behavioral issues except the fact that she just doesn't want to take this medication.  She knows how much better she is doing and her teacher is so encouraging.  We are thinking about trying Daytana patch but I am a little bit afraid that it will not work as well.  With the Vyvanse the teacher saw an improvement day1.  I teach at her school and several related arts teachers committed to me about how well she was doing and wondering what had changed.  so I am a little hesitate to mess things up.

Please help me!!!
