I was just recently diagnosed with Adult ADD and given a prescription for 20 mg of Ritalin ER. I just want to know how long it should take before I actually feel different. When I first take the pill, I feel a little more focused but it's very fleeting and doesn't last for very long. Is this normal?
yea its normal to me because I'm on the same med and dose with the same problem. It can be different for everyone so the effect we are feeling could be different than someone elses. I can feel it for about 2-3 hours and then its gone, and what I'm feeling is just me being a little calmer than usual. I still have a horrible memory, procrastinate, getting lost in convo's, and get distracted easily. I have tried Strattera, Wellbutrin, and now Ritalin ER. Also i have horrible headaches near the end of the day so when i go back I'm going to try to switch to something else. My son is on Vyvanse so i might try that or Adderall.
