NeuroScience Results and Recommendations | ADHD Information
My son has not taken these medications, but I advise you to trust your gut.
If you think that the side effects are too much, stop it. Tell the doc though!
It does take a couple of weeks for a child to get used to a medication, and
the transition can be rough. But if it's getting worse than better, that's
definitely a red flag.
My son had a very violent reaction to his first medication, and he took 2 pills
before I stopped it. There was no question that it was the wrong
medication.
Good luck figuring this out!Hi there,
I'm new to this forum and desperately need some guidance. We recently got my almost five-year-old son's saliva test results back for cortisol levels and urine results back as well for neurotransmitters. His cortisol levels were below the range for all 4 times tested throughout the day. His dopamine, serotonin, taurine, GABA and glutamate were all elevated while all other neurotransmitters were in the optimal range.
Yesterday I started him on 1 cap of the Kavinace and 1 spray of the Endotrex. Today he also had another cap and 2 sprays of the Endotrex. Unfortunately, he has been worse than I have seen in a long time- many meltdowns, defiant, socially inappropriate (bothering younger kids at the park), very emotional, irritable and bossy to his little brother, argumentative and defiant. The only positive that I can see is that he is falling asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow which I don't think he has ever done. Just wondered if anyone else's children have had such negative responses when starting Kavinace and Endotrex. Not sure if I should press on or discontinue immediately. I wish NeuroScience would be able to give me some guidance. Unfortunately, the doctor who ordered the test has just starting using these kits in her practice, so I really do not think she knows yet what she is doing. Any info you could give would be so appreciated!!!!
I agree, stop the meds, something isn't right.
call the doctor and discuss it!
Best wishes!!
Have you tried calling NeuroScience? My son also took the neurotransmitter test and when the results came in there were recommendations from NeuroScience for what supplements to take. I wonder if they have a "helpline" type phone number???
My son was already on medication when he took the neurotransmitter test and his psychiatrist said not to take one of the recommended supplements because it may interfere with his meds. He does take L-Theanine though...which I believe is the same thing as Endotrex just in a pill form. My son didn't have a bad reaction to it but I haven't noticed any real benefit either... If your son is having worse behavior then I would stop the supplements.
