By the way, he did spectacularly! Despite being thrown together with kids
from 15 schools he held it together until he finished his final event. Then he
kind of melted down, but hey, who could blame him? Got him a snack and a
rest and he was fine the rest of the day. :)Congrats!My son has Special Olympics today! He's participating in 3 events, 100
meter dash (appropriate!), running long jump, and softball toss (shot putt).
He's been very excited about it, but last night he sort of broke down - he
feels stressed about it. This is exactly the sort of thing that would cause
him to go off the rails - new experience, tons of people (it's the county
meet), completely obliterated schedule. So I'm hoping he can keep it
together. I think the promise of putting the videos up on YouTube will be
enough of a carrot to get him past his worries!
