FINALLY ....a good day at schoolFinally my dd at a great day in 4th grade. It was the first time in two months that her planner said Great comments about her from the 2 of her teachers instead of such negative things they say about her. They were from subs. her regular teachers were at a conference yesterday. I want to know why those 2 subs see the good in dd and her regular teachers are always writing every little thing she does wrong with alot of detail. On Thursday when I read it I wrote back "Did you forget that she has adhd?" I've run out of responsives along time ago about their comments they write. When they do try and be postive it's always followed by a negative "She did wonderful in the a.m. but she ............ followed by a paragraph of what she did that was wrong. She was so excitied about her plannner. I just wanted to share their maybe light at the end of tunnel. lol. I think teachers get in a rut.Actually, I had a real problem with that sort of thing when my son started treatment. Per his doctor the school was supposed to record his good behaviors so that we could give him a percentage goal and he could earn rewards to reinforce it. The teachers instead would send long lists of all his infractions that day. It took a while, but I got them turned around, and funny, when they did tell him he was on target for 70% of the day, it suddenly shot up to 95+% because he knew what they wanted him to do. If I were you I'd run the book by your daughters case manager or principal. Ask for an explanation - it's the same kid doing the same thing - the difference is the teachers. Sounds to me like her teachers need to have an attitude adjustment. Good luck with this! Hope she can keep it in mind the next time her regular teachers want to bring her down.Congratulations to your dd The goal is more good days than not and yes, there is a light at the end of the tunnel
