11 year old with add needing help | ADHD Information

How adamant is her doctor about not giving her meds on the weekends? It sounds like she desperately needs them! Especially if her behavior is better during the week on meds.  Is it something your doctor may reconsider?My daughter is 11 years old, she rejects everything I say, do, and rejects my
suggestions.    I am on my last nerve. She is pretty good when on meds
but on the weekend I have a really hard time dealing with her, she constantly
fights with her brother and doesn't listen to anything I say. Its like she is a
princess and I am her slave, she makes a mess everywhere she goes, she
sneaks food, she has no concept of what's going on around her. She's loud,
obnoxious and uncaring. Is anyone out there having this problem? What
should I do? Her Dr. doesn't want her on meds on the weekend due to her
weight loss and I hate that we have her on meds to begin with. I love her so
much and I feel like she hates me.

I so know how you feel. I have a 12 year old who on top of everything else is going through puberty.  He listens to noone, is very oppositional and defiant, and too skinney barely eats.we cannot take med holidays at this point he is so bad and begs me to take him off the meds. YA RIGHT> NOT!. You are not alone in your feelings. they do not hate us but it seems that way. unfortunatly having to take the med breaks, limits your good time together. Many of us here that get it. Mine is a Linus with blankets and books following him in the dust
