I am new to the message boards. My son is almost 9 and has been on Concerta for the past year. He gets a lot of headaches and the doctor decided to switch him to Intuniv. Last week he started on 1 mg and this week moved up to 2. He is still taking the Concerta though in a lower dose, while the Intuniv builds in his sytem.
He is still getting frequent headaches and now the teacher at school has noticed some unusual head movements (sounds like tics) that have began in the past 2 weeks. I haven't noticed them at home yet. I know the stims can cause tics (had to get off Vyvanse because of a clearing his throat tic) however not sure if Intuniv does also? Maybe it's from the Concerta?
Also, are most kids who are in Intuniv on another med at the same time or is Intuniv enough to manage the ADHD alone?
