I am curious as to when you knew your child was ADHD. I knew by the time my son turned 4 however I didn't take him in for a diagnosis until he was 5 1/2.
My adhd child is the 2nd of my two children. In comparison....I knew something was up when my son stopped taking naps completely at about age 2 and 1/2. This was not the case with my first child. Also, it was very hard to get him to respond unless I called him like 3 or 4 times. Focusing on certain things like coloring, drawing pictures, or sitting for even a few minutes was difficult. If we'd take a walk....I had to hold his hand because he would get "interested" in bugs or something he'd see and run wherever he wanted --sometimes near the street/cars (he had no fear at all of those things)I could not let go of his hand sometimes. He was officially diagnosed at 5 but my maternal instinct let me know way before that his "engine" ran fast. Hope you can relate to some of this. Please know.....you are not in this alone. Take care and God bless! Six, and I could have found out years earlier if my MIL had disclosed the family history of ADHD.
I diagnosed after reading about adhd when my son was 2! He was professionally diagnosed just shy of 5.
I remember watching my daughter the 1st day of preschool wiggle and
