focalin and tenex | ADHD Information

I so understand your rollercoaster comment!  We just started focalin and he was a zombie the first but we are going to try it for a few more days to see if it goes away...We tried Tenex by itself but it made him very tired and was falling asleep in school and at home while on summer break.  He was not happy about being so tired during summer break.  We have not tired the focalin and tenex....How soon did you see anxiety issues from focalin??My DD, 10 has been diagnosed ADHD and mild Asperger's.  Her doctor wanted to get her off Focalin XR and try Intuniv, due to anxiety caused by Focalin.  We tried Intuniv 1mg and didn't see any results.  Tried Intuniv 2mg which caused major sleepiness and didn't go away.  I talked to him today and we are going back to Focalin XR 20 mg and 1 mg of Tenex at night.  I was just wondering if anyone else is using this combo and how it works.  Thanks.  Sometimes I just feel like we are on a rollercoaster!  Just wish we could find the best meds for her.It is hard to say, because she has been on Focalin for so long.  She has always been a little nervous, but the anxiety has seemed to gradually get worse over the last few years.  We tried going off of the Focalin and switched to Intuniv, but that didn't seem to do anything.  2 mg sedated her too much and on 1 mg, she was still "all over the place" and it was like she had no meds.  So we have switched back to Focalin.  She is on 20 mg XR and seems not zonked out, but very unemotional and almost "robotic".  Also, the anxiety seems to be coming back.  We go to the doctor next week and I plan to discuss it with him.  We tried Strattera, but it really sped up her heart rate.  I may cut back on the Focalin and give her 15 and see how that works.  I tell you, sometimes I feel like a pharmacist.  I hate to see her so unemotional, but without meds she is super hyper.  Anyway, she had done well on the Focalin at school.  We added Tenex, 1mg at night for sleep, but it is not working.  She has been up most of the night for the past two nights.  She was taking Clonidine with Focalin for sleep and I may give her that tonight, simply so she can get some sleep.
