My 3 year old daughter is very hyperactive and struggles behaving, tantrums when out and about are constant, aswell if she doesnt get the desired affect she will throw herself on the floor complaining of leg, belly, arm ache anythinh that comes to mind first which frustrates me as i get strange looks from other parents who think im cruel, she is better behaved at home not fantastic but better, she saves her worst beviour for the public, as anyone else had there child throw themselves on the floor and start screaming with an imaginary pain? i even thinkshe starts to believe it sometimes, we had a new one yesterday as she couldnt get anywhere with the leg ache she started crying real tears and at the top of her voice started screaming because she cant't swim? its just to get herself out of trouble i think but it gets her in deeper. not really sure what i should be looking out for so help would be really apreciated, oh yes she also is up from like 7 in the morning untill nearly 11 at night she doesnt nap i had to stop that when she was nearly 2 as if she napped for 15 mins she would be untill midnight, she is also a very very good talker she can use words in context that even my 7 yr old would struggle with.
She sounds a lot like my son when he was 3! He's 5 now. He never complained of pain but he was ALWAYS worse in public and threw himself down a lot! When he is unmedicated he is EXTREMELY hyper and impulsive. He also has one tantrum after another and literally cannot control himself most of the time. My son is also VERY verbal and always has been. He was saying two word phrases at 11 mo! A lot of your daughter's behaviors sound like ADHD. Definitely get her evaluated! Life doesn't have to be this hard for her (or you !)
I also thought of Sensory Integration Disorder when you talked about having trouble in public. My son has this and he used to be VERY sensitive to certian noises, touch, etc. When something "hits" him wrong he goes into "fight or flight" and does very strange things. This may be some of her problem with the "pains" It may be worth looking into. An Occupation Therapist is the one to diagnose this. The O.T. has helped him tremendously! Good luck and hang in there!
