WOW!
Every Mother's dream!!
So thrilled for you....
Will is having a fabulous year also.. It's a great feeling, isn't it?
so far, so good, still no problems except one child who has
been picking on him since 2nd grade. They have not been in
the same class for 2 years now and they don't really see
each other in the neighborhood but he started a fight with
my son on the bus yesterday. My son handled it very well
and this kid is to be called into the vp office this am
over it.
I am asking the vp what has to be done to remove this child
from the bus after 2 years of this crap. He tells everyone
how his father is a principal at a local school so no one
can touch him. we shall see.keep us posted!

...................well, I took him out early on his birthday 3 days ago and
all the kids were so pleasant, wishing him a happy b-day.
The day we were late due to a dr's appointment, we entered
the room to a lot of hello's and hey, look whose here!!!
He asked me for a 4th grade readiness program today as he
says that he wants to keep up his average this year and do
well and he has already told me that he loves school,
something I have never heard from him before.
Wow!
Put this moment in the bank to store up for a rainy day!
Fabulous! I hope things continue going so well.
Teachers can make all the difference, both positive and negative.
I am so glad for him and you that you finally have a good one, you are so deserving of this.
Thank goodness! I am so happy for you guys!
Great post!
Congrats - we have to take the good times when they are rolling. I wish you a happy and successful school year. That's wonderful to hear. May I ask how you got into social skills training? Do they usually offer that at the public schools, or do you have to go elsewhere? Thanks. That is great news. Hope the rest of the year goes this smooth for you as well.
Gosh I hope things are like this when we start school again next week. This is so great!!! A good teacher can make a ton of difference. When the time is appropriate, make sure the teacher is recognized with a letter to the principal. It will go a long way!
I hope that year continues to be this good!
I never brag but something has happenned and I hope that
I do not jinx myself here....
So, we started school, teacher has an adhd kid at home.
wrote me a great e-mail....here is a small piece:
"From my perspective, xxxx is doing very well.
I understood what you were telling me about last year
being a good year because people were told they didn't
have to like him, but couldn't pick on him either. While
that may have provided a safe environment, I'd like to go
a step further than that and set goals of helping him
with socialization and making friends."
He is telling me how much he likes school, I walked him
in last week after a dental appointment and heard 6-7
kids yell hello to him. He is happy...really happy. I
have no trouble getting him up in the mornings now at
all. We start social skills classes this Thursday for 1
hour for 6 weeks but...that has improved as well!!! He
brought home his grades for the first 2 weeks......and I
was shocked: 6-100's, 1-93, 1-90 and 1-83. I could not
be prouder. I know school just started but I have very
high hopes for this year!!
So glad to hear your school year is starting out on a great note! It sounds like he has a great teacher that is willing to put the effort in to help your son succeed...this makes all the difference in the world! I hope things continue to improve for your son, it will make life so much better for all of you!
update: spn was moved to the front of the bus, Q...culprit child was left in the back of the bus, caught hitting another child and was told that it was strike 2. One more and he is gone...I cannot wait
