bump I would give positive reinforcement daily, for little things. Like putting his backpack in the right spot or sharing with his siblings and making good choices. Also, be sure to tell him privately how special he is to you, regularly.

For the frustration, tell yourself over and over that he has a mental disability. If you have to, tape a sign on the inside of your closet or bathroom door until it sticks. [QUOTE=phylcarl]

Thanks for the bump and the post;  I do try both of those things -- it's just hard.  Know it is for all you out there too.  On the bright side we really hit it off with his teacher, so that gives me hope.
