I can't compare Vyvanse to Adderal as my son hasn't taken that med, but he has been on Vyvanse for just under 3 weeks. I have found that it takes a little longer to take effect. Other than that it has all been good! He is taking a much lower dose of meds than he was on Dexadrine and has no rebound issues. Appetite is better, and he's more 'himself' again. He was becoming more and more withdrawn, would sit at the playground and read when forced to go outside rather than play, and now he is out there with the kids again like he used to be. He is also doing well in school still, this really seems to be a better med for him.
Good luck to your daughter, I hope it works as well for her.
Starting my 9 year old on Vyvanse tomorrow. She can't take pills yet and it says we can mix with water. Can it be mixed with anything else? Like milk? Can anyone tell me about their experience with Vyvanse compared to Adderall XR for a child?
I place my son's medicine right at the base of his tongue, at the top of his
