Wow, amazing to see | ADHD Information

My son has now been on meds for two weeks.  It hasn't drastically changed his behavior, and I was really beginning to doubt whether meds will help him.    Then today as I was busy cleaning the house, he sat down at the table with his little handheld game, and for the first time ever really focused on it and played with it for about 15 minutes straight.  That's HUGE for us.  Usually he just rapidly pushes buttons, doesn't pay any attention to the screen, and is done in about 1 minute.    I was amazed to see him be able to focus on it.   It made me so happy,  and I realized there might be hope :-) My dd has been on medicine for about 1 1/2 years and I still keep seeing an improvement in her behavior.  The biggest one is her self confidence which has grown a lot.  She loves life.  Best of luck to you.Well, I'm disappointed again.  After a couple of days of "good behavior", he's seems to be back to his old usual self.  He's got an appt. in two weeks with his ped, so I guess we'll discuss whether to up this current med, or switch to another one.   I didn't notice much changes in my son's activity level, but I was amazed to see him sit and play with toys that once held no interest for him. That was the biggest sign of improvement. Then, his teacher told me he was able to sit and focus for the entire circle time, which he never did before.
