My son broke his arm | ADHD Information

My son fell on the playground and broke his arm in the 1st grade. He wrote
with his left hand, and his handwriting is so horrible, there was almost no
difference!

Kids with ADHD are slow to heal broken bones. Not sure if it's because
they're so active, or if the meds have something to do with it, but it's just
very common.

I'm so sorry this happened. Hope he's feeling better soon!

So Friday my son's (Blake, age 5) class went on a field trip to the firehouse. Afterwards, they stopped at a park for lunch and to play.  He was sliding down a pole on the playground and fell. I know he cried but the teacher and a mom (who was a nurse) looked at his arm and could not see anything wrong and Blake went back to playing. I picked him up, they told me about it but he seemed fine and said it was fine. Anyway to make a long story short, I noticed later he was not using it and took him to the ER.  His arm is broke.

After 8 weeks of Kindergarten most of which has been horrendous and very trying, started taking medicine a week ago (which does seem to be helping a bit) but is upset every morning about taking the pill, we now have a broken arm.  And of course he is right handed and it is his right arm.  I feel like this kid just can't get a break (no pun intended).  I can't even imagine what school will be like now.

So we go to the orthopedic tomorrow for casting. Then back to school Tuesday.
