"Uppers" vs. "Downers" for ADD | ADHD Information
I took Adderall for almost 2 years while I had a doctor that was located about an hour drive from my house. Needless to say, that drive got REALLY old & stressful so I wanted to find someone closer to my house. I went to a doctor (PCP) that immediately started to talk about how Adderall wasn't "regulated" enough & that it could have bad effects on the liver later on in life & that she wanted to go the route of trying anti-depressants for my treatment. First of all, let me say that when I started Adderall, I was able to actually finish EVERY task around my house: cleaning, doing dishes & also my massage therapy practice literally tripled in my income. No coincidences there folks! So, I started on Wellbutrin, got to about the 3rd week & was having VERY disturbing & vivid dreams. The dreams were as real as me feeling my fingers on my keypad now typing this post. Anyways, I told her about that, then we started Paxil. For the first month or so, I felt ok, but that was it...no major change. I actually felt like as if I were waking up & looking out my window & it being an overcast gloomy day in Seattle, WA. Recently we had a PERFECT weather day & I just stared out the window all day completely depressed. I avoided phone calls, didn't MAKE any phone calls & the worst was that I had no interest in riding my mtn bike, which is one of my main focuses in my life now. I made an appt with the doctor & then she wants me to see a psychiatrist. I've called several & none of the top rated ones take insurance.
My question is: Do you guys think I should go to another PCP & get their opinion about what I should do? I've been told by some people to not mention that Adderall works because they'll think I'm addicted. It's really frustrating to see how Adderall is abused & now people like myself has a harder time getting what I need to finally feel like a human again!
Sorry for the lengthy post, any & all opinions are welcome, so thanks in advance! :)
