Good Morning Everyone- Whenever I post, I always get the best help...we are so extraordinary that way...So on Friday, I had an appt. with my Dr. and I'm afraid I left there not feeling like I had recieved the best services. The reason being, I had inquired about taking something for anxiety. I already take 40 mg of Adderall a day but the issue for me as far as anxiety goes is partly performance anxiety and partly speaking in public. I know most people would prefer to be dead than speak in public...I understand its common but I personally intend to find a solution. My question to you all is: Is asking for a low dose of anti-anxiety meds something that goes against taking ADD stimulants?
I was excused too quickly by him but I think it was mainly due to being closely booked, needing to see his next client. I felt alittle something, however and I wonder if you all might have some insight.
Thank you everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Lioux
You can take anti-anxiety meds along with ADHD meds. Before starting meds, though, how about working with a psychologist to try to help you overcome the public speaking anxiety and performance anxiety?
