Newly Diagnosed-help with parents | ADHD Information

Hey! My name is Katie and I am 16 years old. I was recently diagnosed with ADD. My parnets never wnatedto seek a diagnoses becuase they did not want something to be wrong with ther child. They tell em I am stupid and lazy becuase I dont do well in school. After fialing my classes this semester they finally agreed. My teachers since middle shcool have tried to talk to them, I startd Adderal (the short acting kind)this weekend and it really helped! I could focus and was more clam and less fidgity and less on edge. My SAT scores went up significantly becuase I could now focus on the task! My parents however STILL REFUSE to belive I have ADD! We get into a lot of fights beucase I am impulsive and I say things I dont mean which escilates into yelling and things get out of hand. I tried to epxlain what was bothering me but I had so many thoughts in my head that I had no idea where to start. My dad said I had 30 sec and I could not et out what I wanted to say so I was punished! I was wondering if anyone had similair experneces or knew what to do. Any help would be great! I ams orry if I mispelled anything I also have dyslexia
