Stopped my meds yesterday. I could not feel like sh.. Anymore. Today
i am exhausted . Just need to sleepppp.I would like to know if anyone recognises this.. I have been on
Methylphenidate for just over a month. When i first started i thought
great wow.
But the next week i felt like i was going crazy crying all the time
everything felt to much my coping was at zero. My thoughts ran a bit
wild in the way i was very very sensitive and worrying a lot.
But then i started menstruation poof and back to normal again.
The last week i have been back to being a wreck, and today i feel the
old tell tale tummy cramps. And i feel a little less crazy today, still an
emotional crazy person but less.
I have always be emotional mostly snappy, angry, sensitive before my
cycle start but not to the extend i have been since started
Methylphenidate.
Is this normal?
has it to do with Methylphenidate?
What can i do?
I am happy with Methylphenidate the rest of the time but can not do
this crazy person thing next month.
I do not know what my cycle is. I have tried to figure it out before but
forget. A month is a life time in my head. I really need some feedback
for this.
My thoughts are i prefere the angry me because i am more action
orintated but i am this me i am useless hopeless, no use to my family.
Unsure if my husband would agree, because it is him the anger is
mostly dirrected at, but he needs me to think because of his
undiagnosed add and sever depression effects on him.
Also not good for the children to see their mother crying none stop for
days.

I would talk with a doctor about doing something different during the PMS time.  Are you regular?  Can you predict when you're likely to experience PMS symptoms?  If not, you always coud alter the meds based on how you're feeling rather than altering it preventatively.

There's precedent for altering meds for PMS.  I have a friend who takes antidepressants, and she takes a different dosage during PMS.
