Intro - and some questions on what to do | ADHD Information

Hi everyone,

I want to introduce myself and ask a few questions if you don't mind. My daughter (10 in March) was dxed with ADHD in May 09. We started Focalin in Sep 09. It worked at the lowest dose for 3 days...then we increased it a few times and never got any benefit. She started Vyvanse at 20mg and has now been at 40mg for 6 months. It's not working well anymore.

Anyway, the dr. suggested either adding Intuniv or increasing her Vyvanse. From everything I've read I don't want to do try Intuniv (which is the drs first choice). I could try increasing her dose to 50mg, but that seems so high for a small 10 year old. Height and weight she is about the size of a 6 year old. I'm short too...so it's too be expected.

I realized that for the past few months I've been forgetting to give her her Coromega (Omega packets) and don't know if that's what's causing the meds not to work well anymore or not. Her teacher has told me that she has been real fidgety (twirling her hair constantly) and easily distracted a lot.

We have decided to start Interactive Metronome therapy also, but we won't be able to start for about 3 weeks. I'm anxious to start.
