Straterra Dosage Increasebased dosage, unlike most of the others. I started on Straterra 40Mg for 1 week, then 60mg for 1 month, then 80mg for 3 months, then I went to 100mg for 2 months, then 120MG for 2 months, then I had some significant side -effects, so I discontinued the medication... took 100mg for 3 days then 80mg for 3 days, then 60 mg for 3 days, then 25 mg for days... That was rough.. I thought my heart was going to jump outta my chest, be carefully stopping straterra, maybe it was just me, but it was a rough ride.
Why, when you increased your dosage, and then experienced the side effects, did you quit, rather than just reducing the dosage? I have been on Strattera 40 mg about a week now. Should I try to increase it. At this time, I would like to know what I can expect as the 2nd week is nearing. Will I be.... Thanks!
Why, when you increased your dosage, and then experienced the side effects, did you quit, rather than just reducing the dosage?
Well, it was actually my doctor's advice, but it was based upon the fact that at the next lowests dosage I had little-to-no benefit from the medication. I felt this way, ans I was evaluated by an independant Psychologist while on the straterra, he also arrived at a diagnosis of ADHD, and recommended switching me to a stimulant type medication. My Psychiatrist kept me on the straterra, but increased the dosage... when I had blood pressure/heart issues with the straterra, and a subsequent headache that would not go away, she decided to Discontinue the Straterra and go with Adderall XR... I am doing much better now. I took 80 mg of stratera for 4 months it was a waste of money doctors always try to push this medication because it is not a stimulant That was rough.. I thought my heart was going to jump outta my chest, be carefully stopping straterra, maybe it was just me, but it was a rough ride. |
