New here | ADHD Information

I just want to introduce myself and share info about my
son. My 5 year old son has ADHD and OCD. He hasnt started
school yet. We were unable to do any type of preschool or
daycare because he has severe anger issues and he cant sit
still. He talks or screams endlessly. He has at least 5
meltdowns a day. He bursts into tears over the smallest
things. I also have ADD. I am unmedicated at the moment,
but our pediatrician just put my son on adderall xr 5mg.
That is if the prior authorization goes through. I hope we
can get this under control before he starts school. My
husband works 40 hours a week so alot of the time its just
me dealing with all this. Hi and welcome. 
Hope all goes well with the Adderall.  Keep us posted.  In the meantime, I'd like to share that removing corn syrup, especially high fructose corn syrup, from my grandson's diet helped tremendously with his anger issues.   Welcome, I am ADD also. My Son and Daughter have it as well. My Son was on 3 diff. meds at the age of 8 and none of them worked out at that time. He is now 16 and chooses not to take meds but I'm trying my daughter on the new one called Intuniv. It is a non-stimulant and I will let you know how it works out. Just have patience and keep working with your Son. It takes time but I'm confident that you will find out what will help him. When your Son does start school, find out about getting him an IEP(Individualized Education Plan) at school. If you have any questions about this or anything else, please just message me.
