this bothers me | ADHD Information
Ahh, I remember my older brother singing many violent little ditties that ended in the bloody death of my sister and I. I don't remember my mom doing anything about it. We sang them back. None of us were scarred by it.
In today's reactionary climate I would make sure he knows not to say or sing anything even remotely like that at school, but try not to react too strongly at home or he may just start doing it to push your buttons. You didn't say if it bothered your other son at all, but if it didn't then I would just try to ignore it or use a general "when you sing that over and over it gets really irritating so you need to stop now approach." If it did bother your other son, coach him on how to respond himself.
Does anyone else have this? My child was running through the house this
am singing a song he was making up as he goes about cutting off his
brothers head with a chain saw and how he will be dead. I got very upset
and told my son that if I EVER heard anything like that again, he would
regret it. I told him how inappropriate it is and doesnt' he see that? He is
101/2.oh no! while I haven't dealt with that type of behaviour spacifically, I have dealt with innapropriate play and it is very frusterrating (((hugs))) I hope he will listen too you and not do that again!
