Hi again,
No I am not becoming more manic or rude to people it's like I can be honest and speak my mind where as before I would never want to open my mouth. It's a good thing to me, I guess i feel more confident in my opinion, it's o.k. for me to disagree with someone without worrying about them not liking me if I disagree with them. i guess more mature would be a better way of saying it. The euphorphia only happens when I first take it then wears off. My energy isn't soring it's the oppisite before my energy was soring, I feel more mental energy now and like to read more and learn. I will be seeing my docotor soon.
Hi, I have (am) taken stimulants and I do not think the euphoric feeling is all that uncommon. I also do not think it will last forever. It could be your dose is a bit high, but I have been on the same dose of dexadrine for about 6 years and I use to get that feeling you describe, but I do not any longer. However, the medicine does still help with my symptoms.
I would definately talk to your doctor, but I do not think it is something to stress over while they are away.
Hi all my ADHD people, I am in my late 30's w/ADHD and been on
I understand what you mean. Have you discussed this with your doctor? Not having taken stimulants myself, I can't comment how it makes me feel, and my child doesn't provide the greatest descriptions.
I guess one thing to consider is whether your newfound bluntness and willingness to confront others is causing problems or it's a good thing. If you're saying things that would be better kept to yourself and your own private thoughts, that doesn't seem like good impulse control and decision making. If you are standing up for yourself and not allowing people to take advantage of you, then that'd be a good thing.
Do you feel manic? Do you feel like your energy is soaring and you have excessive energy for projects or other activities? Also, does the euphoric feeling last, or is it just while the medicine is kicking in?
Maybe it is giving you some anxiety when you first take it. Like excitement, not really the bad type of anxiety. Kind of how caffiene works for some people. I think it's ok that you feel that you able to speak your mind and have more confidence. I do not have ADHD, I come on here for my 9 yr old son, but I did have anxiety and depression and I was not very confident and very shy. When I started taking Lexapro, a SSRI, I had the confidence to speak my mind and not hold back. For me it was a good thing because I used to let people walk all over me. I am still able to speak up and tell people how I feel and I have been off of Lexapro for 4 years. I think it's a good thing for you unless you feel like it is out of control or your thoughts are just flying out of your mouth before you have time to think of what you are saying. I think once you are on Adderall for a while your body will get used to it and these feelings won't be as strong. I think if you have not been on meds before, or ones that work then it might feel shockingly different to be able to think more clearly or do the things that you have never been able to do before.
