There is a lot of truth behind those words written by Dr. Hollowel. That finding the right treatment for ADHD, or ADD, would be like finding the right lens for your vision. Except in this case, that focus happens with your brain. I have been on this forum a number of times, making claims that I had believed that I had found the best cocktail of meds to bring my brain to work at an optimal level. However, after some time, I found myself just still having a symptom, or two that was undesireable enough, to seek other solutions. The key I believe, is to start with a good doctor, who really understands their pharmocology, and one whose focus is on Adhd/Add. Furthermore, it's important to read read read, to understand the disorder as much as possible. After some time, well, in my case 11 years, the experience of trial and error, produced one good effect. That effect was a clearer understanding of what, and how my brain is effected by various medications. It got to a point, that I felt that I was able to break my self down, and clearly be in tune with how I felt with each medication, positive or negative. I was lucky enough to come from a family of doctors, and therefore, I understood the importance of embracing science to solve a real problem, which to this day, people still believe the disorder doesn't exist anywhere else, besides in our heads, no pun intended.  I think the critical thing to understand, is that one, two, three, or maybe four drugs may be needed to get the systoms of ADHD under control. The first doctor I had visited, listened to my issues for an hour, and explained to me, that in my case, most likely, one drug would not do the trick. I was a little disappointed, and did not believe he knew what he was talking about. So, instead, I went to another doctor, who again listened to me, but this time around, I was ready to try, and begin drug therapy, no matter if it took one, two, or three... as long as I got myself to such good working order, that I could begin tackling, not only my business goals, but to also provide a better chance for me to make some lasting connections with people, that I had until then, not done so well in keeping.

It may seem alarming at first, to accept the fact, that yes, it may take a true cocktail of meds to give one peace of mind, but, we're not talking about narcotics and heroine here. We're talking about pretty much, benign drug therapies that have been around for a long time. I've now been on meds for 11 years. I can say now, after so many trials, I feel amazing. How do I define amazing?

Let's start with sleep. I can not tell you how vital it is to sleep. Waking up rested 7 days a week, can really provide you with multiple benefits. Good health, good mood, weight control, and a general feeling of happiness. In order to start the day prepared, it's important for all sides of the brain to work with all pistons firing. Any imbalance of these neurotransmitters creates all sorts of sabotage like behaviors that can undo the very things you've been trying so hard to make happen. The regimine that works for you, should last you throughout the day, whereby, you can focus, engage with people, and have enough impulse control, that you don't feel like the outside world is dictating your reactions. Rather, you should feel like everything is in line, and your ability to process data is in a linear fashion, such that you're not fallinig off direction easily. Once this capacity to maintain oneself to this degree, you will feel amazingly secure, confident, mature, and certainly ready to conquere whatever you choose to pursue, cause now there isn't anything that can get in the way, but yourself.

DON'T GIVE UP:))
