Can any share positive or negative experiences with particular psychiatrists in the Atlanta area ? Our 8 year old was diagnosed with ADHD by a developmental pediatrician 18 months ago, and we've been trying to work out the kinks in his meds for a long time but haven't had success yet. Two doctors have told us they think he is undermedicated and we are finally ready to agree and to try to make some changes but would like to find a highly recommended psychiatrist to help us. We live in the Northeastern suburbs of Atlanta but can travel intown if necessary (we're in the Duluth/Roswell/Norcross/Dunwoody area).

Luvmykids0240652.5787152778If you have a nearby CHADD chapter, you can ask them for a referral.Our local CHADD chapter's page says to check the CHADD message boards for recommendations, but I didn't find much on the CHADD message boards.Since posting this, we have started to see Steven Jaffe as a psychiatrist for the meds (highly recommended but we're too early in the process to say) and Dr. Audrey Bloom in Duluth as a talking doctor (psychologist). She is very calming and nice, and our son enjoys her....still waiting to see how much it helps.
