ONLY side-effect from Daytrana | ADHD Information

switched kiddo from 30mg of Metadate CD to 30mg of Daytrana (patch) back
in very early March.

Worked wonders - NO BAD side effects and NO SKIN issues.

However .. now, the itchiness/dry skin issue is cropping up (he's got eczema
to begin with).

Any suggestions how to lessen this so it's not a problem? Otherwise - the
meds work WONDErfULLY!

We love love love Daytrana also.  My boy is ADHD/ODD. He sometimes has the itchy skin, sometimes not.  We stopped putting on the hip and put it on his back, he says it is less itchy. We go on either side of the spine between his pants waistband and up to before the shoulder blades.  We can get 6 new spots before starting over.

On the days it bothers him, he takes it off , but manages ok on those days (I can tell right away though)  Daytrana seems to last a long time after it comes off, so maybe that is why it isn't soo bad.

wait?! You mean it can be applied to other places other than the hip? I
thought it HAD to be on the hip (due to how the system absorbs the
medicine).

Hmmmm must ask the doctor about it! that would definitely help (and would
keep him from scratching at it and constantly rubbing it thereby causing it to
come off early sometimes)Haven't used the hip in a loooong time.  He is only on 15 mg - it is a huge difference for him.  He is very adhhhhhhhd, impulsive and argumentative without it. I didn't ask the dr. about switching, just did it.  Really it is absorbed on any skin.  I got some on my fingers once when I had difficulty with the patch and could tell it was in my system.
