Concerta frustration. Need advise !!! :( | ADHD Information

At the minute, I'm on 54 MG and nothings happening, I'll feel a slightly happiness for one hour or something, but slightly but yet my doctor says they should last the day, seriously what a crock of crap he's telling me. So if no results of 54 MG, and the highest is 72 MG, then when I take that it won't be that much better than what is happening now. How do they work ? Me Mams saying give it time, but someone ..basically, every month I am prescribed them and I up my dosage, they'll work at first then over the weeks they have less effect and I feel this is going to be the same every month no matter of the increased doage. Why not just start off on the highest dosage ? There for it gets me through the day...with in taking it gradual dosages I just get used to them all the time. Tell me if I'm wrong, I don't know how they are meant to work and with it been an Amphetamine based drug I'm thinking with in taking Amphetmines in the past when will it effect my tolerance of Concerta I feel frustrated with concerta aswell.
I was really hoping it would work for me.
I feel zombie like on it.
