Depakote sprinkles for a 4 year old | ADHD Information

Depakote is an anti-seizure medication used as a mood-stabilizer for bipolar children.  Bipolar children often react badly to stimulants, so it's possible your doctor doesn't think he has ADHD, but rather a mood disorder (or bipolar with co-morbid ADHD). 

It works great for many bipolar kids, so you may notice an improvement if that's the case.

My son was given a prescription for Depakote sprinkles.  He is 4 years old, and I am just trying to help him so he can do well in school.  He has been kicked out of preschool, and we fell very stuck.  We tried a stimulant, but he started to rage, and kick and scream.  Any ideas or support would be so appreciated
