advice please ! | ADHD Information

My son has been taking concerta for about 6 months now. I've come to realize that it only seems to be helpingthe hyperactivity a little. His impulsivity is still the same-no impulse control.Focus is ok in class,at least enough to maintain a B average in all subjects.Any advice on a med. that might be more well rounded. Hyperactivity and impulsivity are the main problems that are not being helped by the concerta. I know all kids are different,just looking for suggestions.thanks!You might want to talk to your doctor about adding some guanfacine (Tenex- short acting, or Intuniv - time released).   It is recommended for the hyperactive/impulsive type of adhd, but doesn't do much for the focus.  Doctors do prescribe it as an adjunct to the stimulant. 
my son is taking concerta and intuniv. we are working on the correct
dosage. he is hyper/impule and anxiety mainly.
