Diagnosis | ADHD Information

Hi folks.  My grandson is 23 years old.  He did not finish high school because he was struggling so hard and his parents never insisted that he be tested for ADHD.  The school just thought he was a trouble maker and also did not try to help him.  He tells me that he cannot concentrate on reading and cannot retain what he reads.  He works hard but has little chance of advancement because he has no education.  He has no insurance coverage.  Does anyone know how he can be tested without it costing an arm and leg.  He wants to get his GED but he is too insecure to try.

Most states have a government mental health program that will test him for free or a small fee based on your income.  I quit school and got my G.E.D.  Keep encouraging him. He could use some counseling for the self esteem issues that go along with ADHD.Thank you for your advice.  We live in Va.  I called the school board and ask who they used and they gave me a name of pycologist that they used and she wants 0.00 for 4 hours testing.  I'll keep looking.  Thanks again and good luck to you.
