celexa instead of adderall? can it help? | ADHD Information

Share

i use to take celexa for depression but i quit it cause i felt better and have not felt depressed for a long time now, tillnow.

i have this underlying dysthymia and of course the adderall xr does not help the dysthymia.  it does help my mood and not my depression, does that make sense?

i do not want to take both meds though as i already take thyroid meds and hormone replacement.  the adderall xr i SWEAR is increasing my appetitie and i have gained two pounds this week alone!

so the ssri's are suppose to increase appetite as well but i did not seem to have that problem on celexa 10 mgs.  i may of if i had to increase that dose.

so...my question is has anyone had success with treating ADD with celexa?  i really do not know or remember from when i took it cause it was a very long time ago and things like ADD were not on my mind since ihad not been diagnosed, so it may of helped some things but i did not know they were ADD related, but i am thinking of giving it another try just the same.

any thoughts on how or if celexa may help with ADD?
