Help--Wellbutrin for ADD/Anxiety????? | ADHD Information

Share
ive been on wellbutrin xl for  a month and it does wonders for me! I'm on 150 mgs  But as with most meds it depends on the personThanks for the info.  We have tried a bunch of different things. most made him irritable and cranky, and also started having facial tics and slight vocal tics.  Have also used straterra on and off--good for the mood, doesn't do anything for focus/attention.  Fortunately things are going ok at school, so maybe we'll just try and make it without anything for a while!!  My mom is 51 and was put on it a little over 2 years ago she says it made her feel like s*** so they had to take her off she couldn't do anything but sleep even when they lowered the dose.

Thank you Hope it's working also I get the odd good day even with out meds so hoping it's the medication.  I think any anti depression pills are dangerous for kids. When all else fails maybe a low dosage of welbutrin maybe enough. with close monitering. Has you son tried RitalinSR or LA?

check this place out http://addwarehouse.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/article3.htm all about different  ADD  medicine

Is anyone using Wellbutrin for ADD/anxiety?  Psych wants to put my 10 1/2 son on this?  Have used Adderall, Adderall XR, Strattera, Concerta--all with differing results.  Anyone info would be appreciated!!!  Will'sMomI just got put on it on friday was my first day. I am 41yrs old. DR wouldn't put me on typical ADHD medicine and wanted me on SSRI's but I refused and ask for Wellbutrin SR since XL isn't available in Canada and I read on the internet it's almost as good as Ritalin.  Today is my 3rd day  on 150MG will  be taking 2 a day in a few weeks..Today I feel good hoping it's the med. starting to do it's work. May take a few weeks before I know if it really works Sue--Thanks for taking the time--I appreciate it.  I don't think we are going to give my son the Wellbutrin--I'm really agonizing about it--in info from the drug company it specifically says not for kids.  Have only seen this psychiatrist once, so not to sure he knows what he's doing!!!  Glad to read that it seems to be working for you!!  Good luck.  My son's psychiatrist recommended it for our ADHD 12 YO son, who has not
had good results from Strattera, Prozac, Seroquel, Adderal or Ritalin. We
may try it once school is out. The doc suggested we not do a trial until all
meds are out of his system. I do have confidence in this new doctor. He is
on the teaching staff at UCLA and is very knowledgeable about every
medication and their side effects. We will see.

I have been on Welbutrin off and on for years and it did great for me for both of those. I could really tell the difference immediately but it takes a month or more for some people. It didn't do much for focus though.

As far as children go, there is a high rate of suicide for children on any antidepressent med. Ask your son's psych about this before you put him on and then watch him like a hawk for signs of depression.

I don't know whether they have come to a conclusion or not about it. It may be that the rate is so high because it is depressed kids and it doesn't work as well for them and they do not have the maturity to deal with depression. Even the experts are not sure. I would be very leery of it, but if your son is terribly depressed, it may be worth the risk.

Hi, Brand new here. I am a 48 year old male, and have had some success with adderal added to daily prozac. The side effects of the prozac, weight gain and increased sweating are bothersome.

I had taken Wellbutrin alone, and it made me very anxious, but I wonder if I took it along with a low dose of the Wellbutrin, that maybe the adderall would help with the anxiety brought on by the Wellbutrin. Anyone have any experience or ideas on this ?

Thanks
