13 yr boys impulsitivity/ thyroid?? | ADHD Information

Has anyone had a problem with continued fooling around in class no matter what. He was just diagnozed with add. Dr. suggested Ritalin la 10mg. He started was great first day and 2nd no better then usual. At night he had a major melt down. My son is very bright but gets in trouble all day long at school. I stopped med because they now think he may have a thyroid problem. Anyone have any suggestions??

This thyroid disorder has a lot of symthoms very similar to ADHD, let the doctor to check him, it is not going to hurt. It is better to medicate him for a real problem. They are other "disorders" with similar (ADHD) symtoms, too. They just do a blood test. I did it to my son.

Thyroid we are going to look at this also as it runs on both  sides of my family  great idea. Overactive thyroid: to much activity level. Underactive low activity level. Weight changes also are a sign.I have UA one. on medacine for this myself. rshn
