Hi I am new here.  I have an 8 year old son who is on Concerta, and it has helped awesomely with his learning difficulties.  The problem I am having is that every once in a while he goes a little nuts.  He has done it since he was a baby.  And it is always over little things like bringing up wood or reading a book.  Things that he knows he has to do every day.  His job is to bring up some wood, this job should take him maybe 30 min, but it winds up taking him like 2 hours, then he gets mad at me because I won't let him stop.  He gets so upset that he screams and stomps, hits and tries to bite me.  The weird thing is that these fits last like 20 minutes, then he calms down and gets his work done.  And he is my normal sweet loving little boy.  Does any one know maybe what is going on with him?  It can't be the meds because he has only been on them 1 year and this started when he was like 2.  Please let me know if you have any ideas.....  Oh and this NEVER happens at scholl, just at home with his father and I. Thank you !
