When does she eat in relation to when she takes the Strattera?

 

My son gets very bad stomach aches if he does not eat something substantial before he takes his Strattera.

My daughter was recently diagnosed with ADHD.  She is taking Concerta.  We are in week 6 and it is a miracle.  She is a pleasure.  Still herself but able to concentrate and so much less frustrated.  I like it because she takes it once a day at home in the morning before leaving for school and does not have to think about it again.  Her teachers are reporting a major change in her and she just brought home a math test with a score of 48/50.  Her gym teacher gave me  a squeeze and told me "what a gift I gave my daughter".  I realize that not every drug works for every kid but this has sure done it for us.  Good luck. Hi, I am new to the add child. My daughter 12 was diagnosed a month ago and has been taking Strattera. She is throwing up, bad stomach aches, but the medicine has made her almost human. Her behavior has been great. She is not hyper, but we see her doctor today, and we need something else that does not make her sick.....any suggestions. and is there other meds. that are a non stimulant......

we just started strattera and the nurse was very specific to say that the stomach has to have food it and it has to be down there and starting to digest before taking the strattera with a little more food. she told us to eat a good breakfast as soon as we wake up and then before he heads out the door take the pill with a bite of something. in our house the time elasped between eating and taking the pill is usually 1/2 hour or more.

so far no stomach aches or vomiting.

I will see if i can get her to eat something in the morning.....you know 12 year old girls,,,she thinks MaryKate Olsen looks fabulous!! The strattera has decreased her appetite, therefore, making it more difficult to get her to eat. She has lost five pounds in the last month. We started her on a vitamin packed protein drink in the morning, blended with strawberrys and bananas with dole juice. Also, has a scoop of vanilla non-fat frozen yogurt in it.........She thinks I am jamba juice mom....I having been doing this since seeing the nurtionist regarding lacey. Also, mixed with it is a herbal formula named ADD CONCENTRATE.     She likes it. She also has one at night. THe nutritoinist stated that protein was important along with other key nurtrients, do to her eating habits. 

The doctor is doing some test starting today, due to her stomach aches have been going on for the last year. But since the strattera it has been more severe.
