I am a 25 year old that was diagnosed when I was about 7 with ADHD. But in those days, there was a huge misconseption about children with ADHD and my mother never treated me for it. I quit school when I was 16, and had a child when I was 17. I was able to get schooling and was a medical assistant before having my second child who is 2. I am currently a stay at home mom.

My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD when she was 3 beleive it or not. But I was also afriad of the misconseptoions and waited until she was 6 to treat her. I started her on Strattera, which made her pull out chunks of hair and stab herself in the chest with a pen a few times. Obviously I quickly got her off that stuff. She now does wonderful on concerta. No more mutilating behaviors and is like a new happy calm child that is excelling in school.

I recently decided to go to college. I have been accepted into a nursing program and new I needed to get some help before I enter.

Nothing could get me to finish my housework. I had the best of intentions, but never completed any tasks. I would get so distracted. I always forgot appointments, where I left stuff, talked excessively, gotten mysel fin sticky situations with speaking out of turn. I was extremely short tempered with my family and I would totally fly into a rage about things. It was getting really bad. Bless my family for dealing with me.

I have been on concerta for the last 3 weeks, thanks to my psychiatrist. I felt totally different after the first day of use. I couldnt beleive how different I feel. I can get stuff done, quickly, I dont get so mad about stupid stuff, and am able to fit into social situations better. I feel so good.

I just wanted to tell you all my story.                     Regards, Cassie
