FOCALIN AND BURNING EYES SENSATION | ADHD Information

When I take Focalin (5 mg.) which is approximately four or five nights a week I notice that my eyes burn and feel strained.  Do any of you know whether this in normal when taking a stimulant or is it something to be concerned about?

Hi-just wondering if you ever got an answer to your burning eyes and focalin question.  I just started focalin yesterday (5 mg. 2 x day) and my eyes have been burning-also feeling very strained.  What's weird is . . . it is not a dry eye feeling.  I tried drops last night-which helped a little.  But  . . . my eyes continued to burn-also the lids seem to be a little pink.  Also, it is mostly my left eye.

Hi bearce4,

Please accept my appology for not responding to you sooner about your concerns, however, I have not been on the board to respond to your question. For the most part I do not take Focalin anymore.  When the drs. perscriped Focalin it was when I was also taking Concerta XR. But, the drs. switched my medication to Adderall XR and I have not found the need to take Focalin in addition. The Concerta XR never seemed to last the entire day so I would need a boost to be able to pay attention in night classes.  Nevertheless, since I am not taking Focalin any longer my eyes no longer bother me.
