I AM CONSIDERING THIS AS A SECOND ALTERNATIVE TO THE ADDERALL XR 10 MAINLY DUE TO THE ICKY INSOMNIA I AM HAVING AND CANNOT SEEM TO SHAKE!
I KNOW IT IS DANGEROUS AT HIGH DOSES BUT IS SUPPOSE TO BE EFFECTIVE AT LOW DOSES AROUND 40 MGS I GUESS.
I TOOK IT SEVERAL YEARS AGO FOR DEPRESSION AND AT 100 MGS MY HEART RATE (RESTING) WAS AT 110!
DONT WANT TO GO THERE AGAIN BUT I DID LIKE IT THEN..ANYONE TAKING THIS OR ANY LIKE IT PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
Desimipramine is the first medication that I took, and it helped tremendously.
You might also look at Effexor, which has the same effect and w/out the side effects. Effexor has a low toxicity and side-effect profile. You have to take at least 200mg for it to be effective for ADD. Above 200mg is when the norepinephrine and dopamine kick in. Again, below 200mg Effexor is no more potent than the SSRI's for ADD. Dr. Amen highly recommends Effexor for certain types of ADD.
