My daughter was placed on Zoloft for her anxiety disorder, for 5 month then we
were able to test her for ADD, which she has, then she was placed on Strattera 40mg and has been on for over 3 yrs now, will last late summer, she had a
grand mal seizure, and some of the sysptom she has been having were a type
of epiletic, but the strattera helped her go from all D, F's to B and A's. We took
her off of the Zoloft, and the Neurologist place her on Depakote, I was just wondering if she had a Seizure disorder all this time??? But the Neurologist didn't know. She is 8 1/2 now, she has been on strattera she 7 yrs old., It is so upsetting when your child has to take so many medication, these days, I just feel that teacher don't want to take the time for children who are alittle differnt that
most of the class. Do you think that ADD can be some type of Seizure disorder??
Thanks

I wonder how this differs from a seizure disorder. They both have brain activity problems. RshnI feel Strattera best choice we made we are using depakote also. Spacing out isn't part of ADHD accoprding to psychologist whom diagnosed our son.I also believe could be absence seizure disorder also. The problem is being able to catch one on EEG.I consulted several Neurologist in email whom said that just means not one during test.Depakote helps with that also. Those expisodes will disappear after age 18 usually.I am one whom had that also.Looks like non attention. We are using both drugs and are helping. Strattera should be increased after week 1.Next dosage should go by child's weight.ex. 25 MG FOR 50LB.KID but can go as high as 4omg.our dr. told us.Takes 4-6 weeks before more difference seen. Med. help attention only. My son has only been on since thanksgiving 2004 and this week spelling contract done at school 2 days instead of 4 days. YAYA! I believe it's slower time to see differences. Give it time and I have read to many parent's on this cite whom seem to want quick fixes.Cherish each change as it goes.Ya ya ! see OT therapy and ADHD for more help also. RSHN
