Consequences/discipline | ADHD Information

My son that has ADHD doesn't care about consequences,school or anything any longer.Play is all that matters to him.All other thing have no meaning to him.Everything to him seems to be funny or a game to him. We our firm, but no longer works. Any tips. His Dr. feels he way be Autistic also.His comperhension level is 2-3 years behind real age 8. We are going to a counselor for help also. RshnFrom what I understand  autism is a whole other ballgame. The way you handle that is totally different. I know someone that has a child with autism and they go to lost and lots of therapy. I believe autism and ADHD are related. My girlfriend is majoring in phsycology to study their inherent differences, (also alcoholism). Anywas, Autism seems to be a little extreme. I have ADHD, as well as my uncle. His son has autism. You usually know by about age two. He is now nine years old and has never talked, my uncle has spent over three million dollars in autistic education and research at the University of Washington. He'd be lucky to be able to put sentences together or even learn addition with autism. There are cases that aren't as bad, but I surely think you would have known for sure a lot sooner. Hopefully this lightens things up for you?
