i am on day three of concerta 18 mgs and today am having a really lousy crappy day. i have been tired since around noon, i took the pill at 6:15, pharmacist said it should peak in 8 hours then level off???
first day was perfect except an evening headache, 2nd day no problems at all but did not sleep to well and today well i started out tired but when i use to take adderall xr it did not matter how tired i was, i could function the day through and not feel this crappy.
is this a common side effect of concerta or is it just me adjusting to the new meds? will it go away?
Hi my son takes 72mg. of concerta and has never had any of the side effects you are having, the only thing he has is loss of appetite, maybe it is just your body getting used to it, well good luck!Hi jamieileana,
I took Concerta 36mg for about a year and a half... the first couple of days of the meds takes some getting used to, but then you eventually get well adjusted to it. Hmm... how much sleep are you getting??? it sounds like you're getting up pretty early, maybe you need more sleep because when I took Concerta, it would always give me energy throughout the day (usually lasts about 12 hours). Maybe you're taking the Concerta too close to when you stopped the Adderall (you can become very dependent on adderall... if you took it for a long time you might be feeling withdrawl affects). Lastly, maybe your Dr. needs to up your dose (18mgs isn't a very big dose)... but I would check all of this out with your doctor.
