State Disability Insurance

There is no thing as disability insurance I don't think.

But there is disability, and often times if you qualify for disability benifits, your medications and doctor visits are covered.  Along with a monthly payment of a certian justified sum , depending on what the disibility is and in adults , your working status

My child does not recieve disability, so I am not an expert. Best  thing to do is to call your local social security office.

I met this teenager with ADD and he is on disability insurance. Anyone hear of this? How do you go about getting that? I sure could use the help! Please email me at cyn4ula@earthlink.net

I didn't mean to discourage anyone.

It would be worth trying especially if your child has a severe case, or something else along with it.  Like bi polar or whatever.

If your child does not get disability the first time wait about three months and apply again. I have been told by a couple of my friends that they had to applly two and three times before they qualified.

my son has ADHD and the Dr. said that it wouldnt hurt to try, and that it sometimes depends on how severe your case may be. we are still waiting for a reply for my son, it has been about 3 weeks since I went to the S.S Office and they said it could take anywhere from 3-6 months for a reply!!          ;           ;          (talk about slow moving!!)

I submitted a disability request for social security for my son over the summer & was denied because we are not considered low income.  I was told that you can't get disability for your child just because he/she has ADHD, unless you are considered low income.  Once again, the working, middle class get the short end of the stick.  I find that very discriminating.  One paycheck can only do so much when it supports 4 people!

Told based on income of home. We didn't get even though 4 people live on 40,000 per year. rshn 2-05
