Adderall XR & withdrawal | ADHD Information

Has anyone experienced a feeling of passing out - hard to describe - "vision disturbances".

Dx'ed as Adult ADD 2 years ago I was prescribed 30mg. of Dextraamphetamine.  After 1 year on the meds I got "jittery".  New psychiatrist changed meds to Adderall XR - 30 mg.   9 months later, I started to wean myself from Adderall by taking 1/2 the capsule (15 mg.).  by end of that week - got weird symptoms - heart beat was irregular (later determined to be from low potassium), and "visual disturbances".  Stayed with Adderall for another 4 months while Drs. had me "desensitize" to the withdrawal.  Then switched to 10 mg. a day.  Then for the last 90 days, nothing. Starting Adderall XR back up 5 mg. a day.  Took med TH, FR, SA, forgot Sunday - shopping in the p.m. had a visual disturbance.  Also experiencing cramping in hamstrings & calf muscles - and tension in the middle of my back and additional activity in the heart cavity which I am told is Acid Reflux.

Met w/ Dr. today and he indicated it was due to the nature of Adderall - comes in quick, leaves quick the abrupt departure of the med from my system causes me to "crash".  Seems that my body may be "addicted" to the 30 mg. I took for 2 years.  Recommending I try Concerta -although has cautioned me it does not have the rapid uptake Adderall XR has.  I am still skeptical about the vision issues.   Anyone ever heard of these challenges - I have been a zombie MO & TU and need to make a decision to live w/ the feeling that I might "pass out", or change meds.
