I have been taking 10 mg  of ritalin 3 times a day  for about 5 weeks. I am 6'1 207 lb  and fit not fat. The changes in my life have been great.   THis week it doesn't seem to be  helping as much. yesterday, i didnt seem to notice  it at all and today   I felt my 11am dose  helped a bit but it wore off  faster  than it usually does( by 1:30 instead of 3:00).  Did anyone  who takes Ritalin experience this? have people needed further dosage adjustments  after  it seemed to be   just right?     I started school again 2 weeks ago so now work 6 days, go to school  2 nights for 4 hours and spend 10 hours a week at the gym...could it maybe be  me just trying to do too much and being tired? I am getting at least  6 or 7 hours of sleep a night.  Has anyone ever noticed   when they get  tired  the medicine doesnt work as well?  I am just trying to figuire if this is the norm  and I need  a bit more medication or  is it a result  of  my changing life circumstances and I need to do less. thanks in advance.Yea I had the same exact problem, I'm 6'0" and am only 170 pounds. I was only taking it twice a day, however. When you get tired the medication doesn't work as well because it has worn off, as a matter of a fact that should be the cause of you getting tired, a lot of people have problems when they are coming off of there meds with getting sleepy, myself included. I usually drink a cup of coffee right when I know it's going to start happening. Anyways, yes, I started medication about two or three months ago and started with two pills of 10mg Rittalin. It worked perfectly, after about a month I started to see a change in how long the pills lasted and how affective they were. It shouldn't be your lifestyle, I think you're just growing an immunity. It is very common for doctors to start on a low dosage and work their way up. I'm sure the next time you go in to see your doctor he will have questions for you and when you tell him of this he will increase your dosage. My doctor increased my dosage and put me on concerta, instead of rittalin; which works for eight hours instead of four. He also increased the amount of mg I was taking a day. No worries, just sit tight until your next visit and I'm sure you're problem will be solved.
