My son was recently diagnosed with ADHD and I feel very discouraged and confused by all the conflicting information that I've read about it. My son is seven and his behavior at home is pretty good; he does homework, chores, etc. usually without complaint. The only area where he is experiencing difficulties is at school. His grades were decent but his teacher complains constantly about how slow he is doing his work and his distractability. He also acts in a socially immature manner. The psychologist recommended that I put him on meds but I'm just not convinced. Has anybody had any luck with alternative medication or treatments?
