Our Dr. doesn't like them because of the side effects. My son is ingrediant sensative. The depakote/strattera together seem to be working. I can only give him 1 kind of cough and cold med also.Allergy meds a no no. All have antahistamine. Hyper 2 times worse.Decongestion/ cough can only use for this problem.Teacher and I both agree what we are doing is working. My son is also young for grade in May birthday. Adhd I feel is not only problem with him. Dr. agrees with me.She wants a Autism evaluation because he has had so many developmental slowing.rshn

My  folks gave me antihistamines( benadryl) ONCE  as a child....only ONCE...I dont remember  but  they told  me I stayed  up  over 24 hours was happy  and playing away  and  go go go go   but never tired and they  couldnt keep me in bed.....rough couple of days for them I am sure

You might try a different  DR. .  Stratterra  has a pretty broad  side effect  profile itself  if  you read the insert.  Many of them are the exact same ones as ritalin and Stratterra being a new drug  they really don't know  what it will do in 15 years.  I wonder why they would think a child young for his grade  had developmental problems.  I was old for my grade  and the school still called  my problems "developmental" and tried to put me in "special" classes.  honestly, I am sure it was the ADD. I didn't follow directions well because I really really really  didnt want to do the tasks asked I am sure( not that I recall now).  For me  doing boring tasks umedicated is like  having teeth filled w/o  novacaine... it causes me real distress.  I don't know a lot about autism but,  I don't think it's "mild" even in "mild"  forms. My limited understanding is even in mild forms like  Aspurburgers  it is pronounced.

I changed my diet radically   when diagnosed...My Dr insisted it  would be very therapuetic  for adhd/anxiety
