OMG bcgirl ROFL re: the plane
Sitting her literally laughing out loud!
I live way up on the north end of the island, and the other day I was out taking my two year old for a walk and this plane/jet goes bay, WAYYYY UP there, I mean you can barely see it, let alone hear it, but of course I do. So then it is on my mind, hmmm, where are they going? Where did they leave from? What flight is it anyways that flies over the north end of Vancouver Island at approx 3:30pm in the afternoon? So when we get home, of course I am hyper focused on finding this out. And if anyone cares, it is flight 839 Cathy Pacific that departs from Vancvouer to Hong Kong
But it put my mind to rest, so now when I see the plane again if I am out walking with my daughter, I know, it's a 747 full of people going to Hong Kong LMAO
Edited to add:
You know, most people galnce at a plane in the sky and don't give it a second thought. I look at a plane in the sky and envision the world within it - 200+ people all reading, napping, chatting, watching a film, listening to music... and where are they going? Where did they come from? Are they leaving somebody or are they on their way to being re-united? Are they flying for the first time? Will any of them lose their luggage? Are there pets in the cargo hold?
I think all the EXACT same things!! But then I start thinking about all the other planes flying around the world and how there are literally thousands upon thousands of people in the air all at the same time, flying around in metal tubes just to get somewhere - yes, it does go on and on and on and on and on...
I like having ADHD, I mean who else would know these weirdo things?

Adderall withdrawn from Canadian market today.
I agree! I am at work and I used to not be able to sort out the noises from patients, phones ringing, messages and my boss talking. Now I'm on meds and it's heavenly quieter:)Anyways, I remember in one point of the book, the author is saying that those of us with ADHD don't actually seem to have a problem with *inattention*, it is that we have TOO much attention, in that we see things others don't, and our minds can't organize all the things that are going on in there.

O my gosh I havn't read this book yet but I really want to. The too much attention thing does make so much sense....we pay so much attention to so much we don't know what to pay attention to.....LOL
First of all, I am soooooooooo proud of myself! I actually FINISHED reading the book Driven to Distraction LOL It only has taken me since August and I have misplaced the book numerous times, but YAYY! I finished it!

I thought this was pretty cool and a good way of explaining it and makes perfect sense to me.
Anyone else feel this way? That it isn't so much as inattention per se, but that you are trying to focus on absolutely EVERYTHING at once?
Exactly! It is like our brains are crowded with thoughts, ideas, observations, lists etc. And they are like balls bouncing around that we can't quite grab all at once.
Basically, it is attention overload.
Thanks!
