I took my son(11) of concerta 4 week ago because he did not grow.He was 4feet 9 inches for allmost 2 years.His doctor told me not to worry about it since he was in the 95th percentile as for his growth,He has grown 2,5 inches in the last 4 weeks.Has anyone noticed this side effect?
Our 9 yr old daughter started Concerta last November and since then, she's grown an inch taller. The problem is the weight loss.. she's lost 6 pounds going from 70 lbs to 64 lbs. (She's on 36 mg Concerta) She has no appetite until evening after the meds have worn off.
We're going to try a 27 mg dose for awhile to see if that helps her appetite. I hope it does.. we've had very good results with Concerta otherwise.
My 9 yr old son has taken Concerta for a few years. Weight has also been a concern. But we have started to cash in on when he is the hungriest. Breakfast.
He will eat 2 grilled cheese sandwiches and a banana smothie. Or 2 bowls of oatmeal with a smothie. The rest of the day he just picks. But since we started this routine he's put on 2 pounds !!!
